Internships & Student Programs
Corporate Intern Program
Each year Hilcorp participates in on-campus recruiting at participating colleges throughout the country. Our technical internship program offers an 8–10-week summer assignment working in students’ current field of study including engineering and geology. These internships are based both in our corporate offices and field locations. Additionally, corporate support functions such as Land Administration, Finance and Accounting, and Information Technology offer summer internship and co-op programs during the year.
We partner with the following schools to recruit for our internship openings. Please contact your school’s career center for information on interviews, available positions, and related degrees.

Summer Student Program
During the summer months, we employ full-time college students to help with a variety of projects at our field locations. These students are the children or other legal dependents of our employees who are interested in a temporary field-based summer assignment. These opportunities provide students with exposure to key positions in our operations. We want summer students to see field operation activity to further pique their interest in an oilfield operations job or to help focus their degree plan on their specific interests.
Co-op Students
We offer ongoing part-time job opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students in areas including Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance and Accounting, and Land Administration. These administrative positions offer flexible schedules based on the students’ full-time school schedule.
Work Study
University of St. Thomas Rising Star Program and the Cristo Rey Jesuit’s Corporate Work-Study Program open the door for corporate change. By investing in this program, Hilcorp supports the development of a diverse workforce and provides career and technical training for the next generation. The programs offset the students’ education costs and also provides students with valuable work experience before attending college. Students acquire valuable job experience, obtain marketable skills, create positive relationships in professional communities, develop a network of business contacts, and gain exposure to a wide range of career opportunities that inform their college decisions.
