Community Impact
Our Communities
Hilcorp is a stable, growing employer that strives to create a culture that develops “lifetime givers.” We feel our employees know the needs of their communities best, and we give them the means to be leaders in their communities. Employees make up their local school boards, serve on booster clubs, and volunteer for non-profit organizations. Through our Hilcorp Giving Program, we also foster individual philanthropy by empowering everyone to give to causes they care about most.
By the Numbers
Hilcorp Giving
In keeping with our employee-centric philosophy, Hilcorp empowers each employee to determine where corporate charitable dollars are spent in our communities. Upon hire, a Donor Advised Fund is created for each employee, and employees are provided an initial grant of $2,500. Every year, we match each employee’s contributions dollar-for-dollar up to $2,000.
Our Hilcorp Giving Program partners with the Greater Houston Community Foundation and the Alaska Community Foundation to manage these donor advised funds.
Because of our employee-driven giving model, over 95% of employees participate in this program and have donated over $87M since 2007 to charitable organizations across the country.
Scholarship Program and Support of Local Education
Hilcorp invests in the nation’s future leaders through two different scholarship funds. The Hilcorp Future Leaders of America Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students who graduated from high schools in the communities where we operate. Since establishing the Future Leaders of America Scholarship, Hilcorp has awarded over $2.6M in scholarships to more than 359 students from 58 different schools across 10 states.
The children of full-time Hilcorp employees also have the opportunity to apply for the Hilcorp Scholarship. The Hilcorp Scholarship has awarded over $5M in scholarships to 181 children of Hilcorp employees.
In addition to providing scholarships, we provide valuable workplace experience for hundreds of students each year through high school level student internships, college student internships, and a part-time work program for current college students.
Volunteerism
We develop our culture of giving by supporting our employees, our communities, and our environment. Employees are encouraged to support the organizations that are important to them.
Most volunteer events in which Hilcorp participates throughout the year are opportunities identified by employees and coordinated by employees with support and resources provided by Hilcorp.
In addition to providing regular volunteer opportunities, we encourage employees to find new ways to volunteer in their communities.
Disaster Response
Through the Hilcorp Helping Hands program, our employees help each other overcome unusual and unexpected hardships.
Since 2017, employees have donated over $2M to their colleagues through Hilcorp Helping Hands.
Whether an employee is dealing with a death in the family, impact from floods and natural disasters, or any other extraordinary circumstance, Hilcorp empowers our employees to help and support each other through adversity.
